Short-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds are not accepted: Bulldog, French Bulldog, Boxer, Shih Tzu, Boston Terrier, Bull Terrier, King Charles Spaniel, Tibetan Spaniel, Brussels Griffon, Chow Chow, Pug, Chin and Pekingese (including miniatures). On passenger flights the ban applies during summer (May 1 to October 31); ANA Cargo bans these breeds year-round on international flights.

Notes

Pets are not allowed in the cabin; they travel only in the cargo hold on the same flight as their owner, booked by phone in advance. The combined weight of pet and cage cannot exceed 45 kg and the three sides of the cage cannot total more than 292 cm. Fees are JPY 40000 / USD 400 / EUR 300 per cage for sectors spanning two areas and JPY 25000 / USD 250 / EUR 200 within one area. Short-nosed breeds are barred (summer only on passenger flights, year-round via ANA Cargo).
